Donald Trump, the Boss of the Trump Crime Family, claims that “No One Knows” what Roger Stone has been convicted of, and that the 7-9 year sentencing recommendation from the Federal Prosecutors is “Extreme & Excessive”.
When we receive the transcript from the actual Roger Stone sentencing hearing, I imagine the transcript will read something like this:
Judge Jackson: Before we get started here today, I would like to discuss a few items that have appeared in the news, concerning Mr. Stones conviction, and the recommended sentencing provided to me from the Prosecution, because Donald Trump has claimed that “No One Knows” what Mr. Stone has been convicted of. So let me ask a few questions:
Judge Jackson: Has the Defendant’s Attorneys been provided with a list on the Felony Crimes that Mr. Stone has been convicted of?
Stone’s Defense Attorneys: Yes we have, Your Honor
Judge Jackson: Could you please read me the list of Felony Crimes that Mr. Stone has been convicted of?
Stone’s Defense Attorneys: Yes, Your Honor. Mr. Stone has been convicted of one (1) Felony count of Obstructing an Investigation, five (5) Felony counts of making false statements, including false statements to Congress, and one (1) Felony count of Witness Tampering.
Judge Jackson: Have you reviewed this list of Felony convictions with Mr. Stone?
Stone’s Defense Attorneys: Yes we have, Your Honor.
Judge Jackson: Then let me ask you this. If you know the Felony Crimes Mr. Stone has been convicted of, if Mr. Stone knows the Felony Crimes he has been convicted of, if the Prosecution knows the Felony Crimes Mr. Stone has been convicted of, and I know the Felony Crimes Mr. Stone has been convicted of, how can Donald Trump say: “No One Knows” what Mr. Stone has been convicted of ?
Stone’s Defense Attorneys: I have no idea, Your Honor
Judge Jackson: OK, let’s address the concern that Donald Trump has about the the sentencing recommendation.
Judge Jackson: How did the Prosecution decide the sentencing recommendation for the Felony Crimes Mr. Stone was convicted of?
Federal Prosecutors: We followed the United States Federal Sentencing Guidelines.
Judge Jackson: Are you telling me that the sentencing recommendation you suggested for Mr. Stone’s Felony Convictions are exactly what is called for by the United States Sentencing Guidelines?
“Extreme & Excessive” Yes, Your Honor, we are.
Judge Jackson: Well, since Donald Trump believes Mr. Stone’s sentencing recommendation is “Extreme & Excessive” is there anything he can do about this?
Federal Prosecutors: Yes, Your Honor. Mr. Trump has two (2) options:
- He can work with Congress to have the United States Federal Sentencing Guidelines changed.
- He has the power to commute the sentences of ALL people convicted of the same Felony Crimes that Mr. Stone has been convicted of.
Federal Prosecutors: Can we add something else, Your Honor?
Judge Jackson: Sure
Federal Prosecutors: Obviously, the quickest remedy for Donald Trump’s concern about the sentencing guidelines being “Extreme & Excessive” would be to commute the sentences of ALL people convicted of the same Felony Crimes that Mr. Stone has been convicted of, however we do not believe this is what Donald Trump really wants.
Judge Jackson: Why do you say that?
Federal Prosecutors: Because we do not believe Donald Trump is interested in commuting the sentences of ALL the people convicted of the same Felony Crimes that Mr. Stone has been convicted of. We believe he is only interested in commuting the sentence of Roger Stone.
Judge Jackson: OK, let’s take a recess, and I will come back and sentence Mr. Stone.
